Freeland is the retail and financial center of South Whidbey Island and is developing a strong and growing business community, nestled between two striking bodies of water; Holmes Harbor and Mutiny Bay, and set amidst the beauty of Whidbey Island.

Freeland’s Main Street features such anchors as Ace Hardware, Lind’s Pharmacy, and Payless Foods, and small businesses. Nearly every regional bank has a Freeland branch office. The Nichols Brothers Boat Builders/Ice Floe LLC, the Island’s largest private employer, has four generations of experience in manufacturing a wide variety of passenger vessels and work boats, including catamarans, car ferries, tugs, fireboats, and military landing craft.

When you’re ready to relax and have fun, there are a number of fine dining restaurants, golf courses, and plenty of hiking and biking trails to help you stay fit. The beach is accessible via the Freeland City Park, or via nearby Double Bluff State Park.
